Y&R Dubai crowned agency of the year for third year in a row

Y&R Dubai has won the Dubai Lynx agency of the year title for the third year in a row.

The agency is now the most awarded in Dubai Lynx history in terms of major awards, with last night’s awards show seeing it win the design grand prix for Land Rover’s ‘Personal Extinction Prevention Book’ and a host of golds.

Leo Burnett also retained its network of the year title thanks to a strong performance across its Dubai, Cairo and Beirut offices. The network won two of the six grands prix awarded last night, with Leo Burnett Cairo taking home the top award in branded content and entertainment for Mobinil’s ‘Always Together’, and Leo Burnett Dubai’s ‘Break-Free’ for Fox Movies winning the print grand prix.

The media agency of the year title went to Starcom MediaVest Group, although the media grand prix was awarded to Impact BBDO Beirut for ‘A Heritage Worth Reviving’, which also won the PR grand prix. The promo & activation grand prix went to JWT Cairo for ‘Vodafone Fakka’, while the inaugural independent agency of the year award went to Beirut-based Interesting Times.

There were no grands prix in direct, film, film craft, integrated, interactive, print & poster craft, mobile, outdoor or radio, making it one of the worst years since the Dubai Lynx began in 2007 for the allocation of the top award.
