Yousef Tuqan Tuqan leaves Careem for Jumeirah

Jumeirah Group has appointed Yousef Tuqan Tuqan as group vice president of brand marketing and loyalty. He will report to Alison Broadhead, Jumeirah’s chief commercial officer.

Tuqan has more than 20 years’ experience in the region gained working for a number of major regional and international brands, including leading the Jumeirah digital account team 15 years ago during his time with OgilvyOne Middle East.

Following spells at OgilvyOne and with north55, Tuqan spent nearly 10 years with digital agency Flip Media as CEO before the agency was acquired by Publicis and integrated into Leo Burnett. During his tenure, he saw the growth of this business from a small boutique team of 20 to more than 150 staff based in eight offices throughout the GCC. He was then retained for a period as Chief Innovation Officer of Leo Burnett/Publicis Groupe MENA.

He has most recently, been entrepreneur in residence for a venture capital company, advising high growth start-ups including Careem.

Tuqan said: “Having worked with Jumeirah early on in my career, I have always admired this iconic, homegrown global brand. I’m incredibly excited to be given the opportunity to lead the Jumeirah brand’s evolution.”
