UM MENA retains Ooredoo account

UM MENA has retained the media planning and buying duties for Qatari telco Ooredoo.

The local account will see the agency working with Ooredoo exclusively across the Qatar market. The agency has managed Ooredoo’s media buying and planning activities since 2011 and the retention of the brief follows a multi-agency pitch.

“As regional vanguards of the media industry, we are delighted to have a prestigious organisation like Ooredoo extend their relationship with us,” said Hanan Tabsh, business director at UM MENA in Qatar. “This only further bolsters our alliance and gives us an opportunity to continue to explore the realms of new and traditional media through an ingenious approach to guarantee real results for them.”

Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, director of community and public relations at Ooredoo, said: “Ooredoo has been extremely successful in Qatar in recent years, increasing our value and market share, and leading the market with the best network, best range of services and best customer experience. Our approach to partnership – where we work with trusted suppliers and stakeholders over a period of time in order to continually enhance and improve our performance – is one of the factors in this success.”

UM is part of the MCN Group.
