Sohal leaves Y&R Dubai

Komal Bedi Sohal, one of the region’s top creatives, has left her position as executive creative director of Y&R Dubai.

Sohal had taken over from Shahir Zag as ECD of the Dubai office in March this year following a restructure of parent company Menacom’s above-the-line agencies.

It is not yet known who will replace Sohal, who was ranked the number one creative director in the Middle East by The Big Won report for 2009, and the eighth best art director in the world for the same year. The Big Won report ranks agencies, individuals and countries by the number and quality of awards won across all media during any given year.

It is understood that Sohal is taking time out and has not gone to another agency. Her departure is part of wider changes at Y&R. Former MD Adil Khan left in June to take on the role of regional CEO at Saatchi & Saatchi, while new creative teams are due to join at the beginning of September.
