Rangel takes on executive creative director role at gyro

Guilherme Rangel has taken on the role of executive creative director at gyro Dubai.

Formerly of Horizon Draftfcb and Y&R Dubai, Rangel is the first person to take on the ECD role at the agency. Fiona Menzies, managing director at gyro, said: “We are thrilled that we finally have the rockstar we’ve been searching for to front our global ideas shop in Dubai. Gui brings an unstoppable energy and the kind of passion only a Brazilian could bring to our industry. Today marks the start of something very special.”

Rangel added: “I feel joining gyro and its fantastic team is an amazing opportunity to bring the sexy back not only to my work but to our business as well. If you don’t believe it, try me.”

Rangel began his career in his native Brazil, where he worked for Fischer America and TBWA\BR, before heading to Dubai and Impact BBDO in 2005. He later joined Y&R, where he became creative director, before taking on the ECD role at Horizon Draftfcb.

Gyro was recently named ‘Agency of the year’ by the international Business Marketing Association. The gyro network has 17 offices in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
