Production trio launch content creation company

A new content creation company has been launched in Dubai by three former Boomtown Productions staffers.

The company, called Collective, will use crowdsourcing and technology to create ‘cutting edge’ video content for TV, web and mobile.

Collective’s trio of founders are executive director Omar Abbas, executive producer Peter Simons and managing director Reem Hameed, all of whom have worked within the region’s production industry for a number of years.

“Our business model is a departure from the region’s film production status quo,” said Hameed. “Content creation is a collaborative process and we envision ourselves as an access point to a network that agencies can tap into for their content production needs.”

The company’s crowdsourcing-based model will apply across every facet of Collective, with clients able to hire one of the team or all of them. The company’s stated goal is to create “amazing content, empower our clients, and build a collective community that wants to push creative boundaries”.

“We appreciate that ind-ustry pioneers have laid the foundation for our video content creation in the MENA region,” said Hameed. “We’re the next wave and it’s our job to build skyscrapers.”
