Saudi Arabia’s second mobile telecoms company, Mobily, is in the process of reviewing its creative advertising account.
The Riyadh-based operator is understood to have sent out a round of RFPs to an unknown number of agencies in the region. The pitch is believed to be a request for 360-degree creative support in its home market of Saudi Arabia.
The agencies invited to take part are expected to make their initial submission soon, which will then progress to a procurement assessment, prior to a shortlist being drawn up. Mobily last called a creative review in 2009, finally deciding to split the business with Impact BBDO and Drive Dentsu. It is not yet known if both incumbents have been invited to re-pitch for the account.
Mobily is one of the biggest ad spenders in the kingdom and, according to Pan Arab Research Center, spent $97 million on advertising in 2011.
