Memac Ogilvy Label and Y&R Dubai strike gold at LIA awards

Y&R Dubai and Memac Ogilvy Label have won gold at the London International Advertising Awards.

Tunis-based Memac Ogilvy Label won gold for ‘The Return of Ben Ali’ in the TV/cinema/online video category, as well as silvers for the same work in the billboard and non-traditional categories. Y&R Dubai’s gold was awarded for its ‘Edible desert survival guide’ for Land Rover. The campaign also won bronze in the same category, while the agency bagged a silver for ‘Mountain’, ‘Orang-utan’ and ‘River’, also for Land Rover.

Barbara Levy, president of the London International Advertising Awards, said: “This year’s juries worked diligently, sometimes late into the night to be sure all entries were given their due consideration. The results reflect the juries’ lengthy discussions and sometimes heated debates.”

Other winners from the region included TBWA\Raad, which won two bronzes for its ‘VIP fridge magnet’ for Red Tomato Pizza, and DDB Dubai, which won silver and bronze in radio for its ‘Explore the silence’ work for Whirlpool. Memac Ogilvy Dubai picked up a bronze for ‘The smallest Ikea store in the world’.
