Matar handed creative director role at FP7 Beirut

Wissam Matar has joined FP7 Beirut as creative director.

He will head up the creative department alongside Rana Najjar, who left Leo Burnett Beirut for FP7 in September last year, with the pair forming a copy/art creative lead duo.

Matar, who was also previously with Leo Burnett, began his career at Intermarkets in 2001. His appointment is the latest in a string of creative changes at FP7, including the double departure of CCO Daniel Georr and Dubai’s executive creative director, Fadi Yaish, last summer. Paul Banham replaced Yaish in September.

Tarek Miknas, CEO of FP7 MENA, said: “ Rana and Wissam are no strangers to each other. They have worked together as a team in the past and this tried and tested formula rewarded Leo Burnett generously on the awards front during their time there. And now, FP7. A new chapter for Wissam – one where we will see him growing even further and contributing to the creative culture brewing in our network. These are exciting times and it’s a thrill to see the next generation of talent finding their homes in ours.”
