Marketing Society Middle East adds two board members

The Marketing Society Middle East has made two additions to its regional board, while global CEO Gemma Greaves has left, replaced by Sophie Devonshire, CEO of The Caffeine Partnership.

In the Middle East, Trixie LohMirmand (pictured, right), executive vice-president of events management at Dubai World Trade Centre, and Fran Owens (left), chief commercial officer of the Insights Division at Kantar, have joined the Society’s board.

LohMirmand brings with her more than 27 years of experience in the global events industry. Fran Owens has more than 20 years of global expertise working with leading businesses and brands. For the last 12 she has held senior executive roles in Kantar across its consulting and insight divisions in Europe and UAE.  She is a sociologist, international brand strategist, innovation expert and sustainability champion.

When asked why she wanted to join the Society, LohMirmand said: “Curious and tempting, bold yet authentic is how The Marketing Society has inspired the region’s marketing community towards greater excellence in not only their field of specialisation, but the wider impact on economic growth and social positivity. Peer influence and learning is probably now greater than at any other time, and for any executive this is an irresistible opportunity to be part of the Society to re-share, re-learn and re-create new meaningful outcomes that matter to all of us.”

Owens said: “Collaborative impact is where it is at. Now more than ever is the time we all need to work together, to devise unique and creative ways to maintain vitality and momentum in the Middle East’s marketing community. I’m honoured to be joining The Marketing Society as a new board member, bringing another fresh voice to the table, collectively pushing boundaries with braver discussions, braver events and braver innovation that shapes the industry .”

The Marketing Society has appointed Sophie Devonshire, CEO of The Caffeine Partnership through Hunter Miller as its new chief executive taking over from Gemma Greaves who announced earlier this year that she was stepping down to focus on new business ventures.
