JWT retains Zain in Kuwait

Agency has handled the brand since 2002; performance-based component to be implemented in new agreement.

Telecommunications company Zain has announced the renewal of its partnership with JWT in Kuwait, following a competitive pitch. The agency has partnered Zain in Kuwait since 2002.

Omar Saud Al Omar, chief executive officer, Zain Kuwait, said, “Throughout the whole pitch process, we were impressed by JWT’s determination to maintain our business. Their strategic thinking and creative ideas scored high and their initiative to implement a performance-based component into the new agreement will go a long way in making us stronger partners.”

Michiel Hofstee, CEO, JWT Gulf, said, “We are delighted that our strong partnership with Zain Kuwait allows us to continue developing powerful strategic thinking and creativity for this wonderful national brand. An agency statement revealed that Zain Kuwait is the first business win for JWT under a new leadership team (2014) of Kuwaiti national Anes Al Rayes (ECD) and Francois Kanaan (MD).
