Ghossoub resigns as Menacom chairman and CEO

Menacom chairman and CEO Joseph Ghossoub has resigned from his position with immediate effect.

It is not yet known why he has stepped down, but WPP’s director for the MENA region, Roy Haddad, will oversee the position until a replacement is found.

In a statement, Y&R confirmed Ghossoub’s departure and added: “Also effective immediately, Roy Haddad, WPP’s director of MENA, steps in as interim chairman with full management authority and responsibility. We will name a successor in the near future.”

Menacom is the parent company of ad agencies Y&R, Intermarkets and Partnership, PR outfit Asda’a Burson-Marsteller, media agency MEC, and direct marketing specialist Wunderman.

Ghossoub is one of the region’s most powerful admen, having founded The Holding Group (now Menacom) in 1996. During his leadership the group grew to encompass a network of 37 offices in 12 countries. In 2008 was named the first Dubai Lynx ‘Advertising Personality of the Year’.
