FP7/BAH named agency of the year at the MENA Cristals

FP7/BAH was named ‘agency of the year’ and FP7 ‘network of the year’ at the MENA Cristals in Lebanon last night.

Although the Bahraini agency did not take home any grand Cristals during the course of the evening, its body of work for client Batelco won Cristals across the magazine, print craft, corporate and film categories. Helping the agency to the ‘network of the year’ accolade were FP7’s offices in Syria and Algeria, both of which won a Cristal apiece in the radio and film categories respectively.

The evening’s biggest awards haul, however, went to TBWA\Raad Dubai, which picked up nine, including two grand Cristals in the film and print craft categories for its ‘Hajj Nadi’ campaign for Domino’s Pizza and its ‘Musical Creatures’ work for The Fridge.

Leo Burnett Beirut was the second most awarded agency, also taking home two grand Cristals for its ‘Loubnani’ campaign for Bank Audi Sal in the corporate category, and its ‘Hijack’ work for Alfa in the radio category.

The most celebrated win of the evening, however, went to JWT Cairo’s ‘Kowetna’ campaign (above) for Vodafone Egypt, which struck a poignant nerve given the current situation in Egypt and led to a standing ovation from the audience at the Intercontinental Mzaar. The body of work was awarded the integrated grand Cristal.

The Cairo agency won four Cristals in total, as did Y&R Dubai, which landed the grand Cristal in the magazine category for its ‘Accessories Required’ campaign for Harvey Nichols. The outdoor grand Cristal went to Impact BBDO Beirut for its ‘All Terrain’ campaign for Ets. Kettaneh, but there was no grand Cristal awarded in the daily press category.
