Etisalat Group calls creative advertising pitch

The Etisalat Group has called a pitch for its creative advertising account.

The UAE-based group, which looks after all of the telecommunication company’s international operations, said the pitch is in the early stages, with an RFP sent out and proposals received. There is no incumbent on the account.

Rehab Ateeq, group communication senior manager, confirmed that the pitch was taking place, although it is separate to the review of Etisalat’s creative advertising account for the UAE, which was called last September. Haitham Al Kharusi, vice president of marketing communication at Etisalat, said that the UAE pitch was ongoing. The incumbents on that account are Impact BBDO, which Al Kharusi said the company had been working with for three years, and Lowe MENA, which has worked with Etisalat for the past two years.

The Etisalat Group was formed last year to manage Etisalat’s international operations. The telco is present in 18 markets across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, including Egypt, Sudan, Nigeria and Pakistan. It serves more than 100 million customers.
