Du retains OMD following multi-agency review

UAE telco du has retained OMD as its media buying and planning agency following a multi-agency review.

The decision brings to an end a review process that had begun in April and followed the company’s earlier retention of Leo Burnett as its creative agency of record.

In a statement, Hala Badri,  du’s executive vice president, brand & communications, said: “We are pleased to announce our decision to retain OMD as our media buying agency of record. Despite the rigorous multi-agency evaluation process, OMD’s team demonstration of their sharp understanding of our business and quality of team really stood out.

“The evaluation focused primarily on optimising effectiveness and efficiency of our media planning and buying, and the presentations from all the four leading agencies (Mediaedge, Mindshare, OMD and MediaVest) were really impressive. We look forward to our continued association with OMD to derive the maximum mileage.”

Both the media and creative pitches were part of a statutory review process that forms part of the company’s corporate governance.
