Dani Richa handed additional charge of Africa at BBDO

Chris Thomas, CEO, AMEA, to move as CEO of Americas.

Dani Richa, chairman and CEO, Impact BBDO Group Middle East and North Africa, has been given additional charge of all BBDO operations in the African continent.

The development follows BBDO naming Chris Thomas, CEO of Asia, Middle East and Africa, as CEO of Americas for the network. He will take up his new role in May, and will remain chairman of I&S BBDO Japan and chairman of Proximity Worldwide.

On his new mandate, Richa said, “I am tremendously excited about joining up our established MENA network with our fantastic BBDO agencies across sub-Sahara Africa, especially South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya. With over 1.5 billion consumers, MEA is one of the world’s most dynamic growth regions, and we share our clients’ belief in its huge potential.”

BBDO has also announced succession plans for other markets that Thomas was in charge of.

In a statement, Andrew Robertson, president and CEO of BBDO Worldwide, said the changes “demonstrate the benefits of our commitment to strong succession planning and will further strengthen the leadership team.”
