Al Safi Danone calls pitch for Iraqi ad brief

Saudi-based dairy company Al Safi Danone has called a pitch for its creative advertising account in Iraq as part of a bid to bolster its operational presence in the country.

The pitch for the Al Safi and Activia portfolio will take place in Erbil, northern Iraq, at the end of the month and will last two days.

Y&R, Leo Burnett and Memac Ogilvy have been sent RFPs on the basis that they have a strong regional presence in the Middle East and can provide strategic support and HR when needed. The incumbents JWT, which looks after the Al Safi portfolio for Iraq along with Danao, and FP7, which handles brands including Activia, Danette and Safio, have also been invited to pitch.

Rizwan Ali, integrated marketing communications manager at Al Safi Danone, confirmed that the review was taking place.
