OMG seeks further growth as management changes

Omnicom Media Group MENA has bolstered its senior management with a series of promotions and appointments designed to deliver further growth for the group.

With OMD, PHD and M2M within its fold, Omnicom Media Group (OMG) says the changes “illustrate the confidence we have in the talented professionals who manage our operations in the region”.

Shadi Kandil has been named CEO of OMD MENA, moving from his current role as managing director of OMD UAE, where he has been for a number of years. His remit is to “lead the growth of the OMD network, continue the enhancement of its offering across the various disciplines and consolidate its creative heritage”.

Choucrallah Abou Samra takes on the position of CEO at OMG Saudi Arabia. Having solidified the group’s position in both Jeddah and Riyadh, Abou Samra is tasked with realising growth in the kingdom, while regional executive director-group development, Hisham Abi Nassif, takes on the new role of chief growth officer at OMG MENA. Abi Nassif’s focus will be to drive growth for the group across three key pillars: “identifying and driving strategic opportunities for new business, working even more closely with Omnicom’s creative agency partners to grasp common growth opportunities and assess opportunities in new markets with the regional CEO”.

Joining OMD UAE from OMD New York is Nadim Samara, who takes on the position of general manager. Based in Dubai and reporting to Kandil, Samara is tasked with differentiating OMD’s product and strengthening its competitive positioning locally and regionally. Meanwhile, Firas Ghazal is being promoted to deputy general manager of OMD Dubai.

“All our operations have performed very well over the last few years, even when conditions weren’t optimal,” said Elie Khouri, CEO of OMD MENA. “These management changes illustrate the confidence we have in the talented professionals who manage our operations in the region. They also reflect our ambition to grow further still and keep stimulating our clients’ performance with even more advanced services and systems.”
