Nominated by Marc Lawandos managing director, KSA, FP7
“Johara Al Alaiwi is one of our rising stars within the client service department. She is dedicated, supportive and a perfectionist. She started as an account executive two years back, and in January 2019 got promoted to account manager. Her colleagues love her and so do her clients. She is the go-to person and was able to overshadow her business director in no time and is now managing her business portfolio on her own. Her role on the Ministry of Finance mandate was essential as, without her, we wouldn’t have pulled this one off.”
Career path
“I am a marketing graduate, with an MSc in strategic innovation management from the University of Sussex, Brighton. I first started my career in media as a community manager, but didn’t find myself in media. I then transitioned to the creative industry as an account manager. I’ve catered for clients from multiple industries in both the private and public sectors.
Guiding principles
Being in a creative industry, day-to-day deadlines and fast turn-around are inevitable. So time management, calmness and negotiation skills are key to successful days. One major thing I would pass on to someone coming into the industry is “quality not quantity” in terms of effort and time spent on a specific project.
