KHALIL BARAKET, 27 JUNIOR COPYWRITER, JWT TUNIS
Nominated by Ahmed Mahjoub, CEO, JWT North Africa
“Khalil is a young talent with enormous creative and professional potential whose opinions are valued by clients. His contribution to the daily work, as well as big campaigns, makes him an essential element in our teamwork. Khalil has a profound background in film, which has had a tremendous emotional impact on the work, and is now involved in most of the agency’s briefs.”
Career path
“As a copywriter, and also a filmmaker, I try to build my professional career while engaging in both industries.
The first short film I did in 2014, I found myself in a joyful festival, sitting and interacting with people. The second film won a screenplay prize and was selected at the Journées Cinématographiques de Carthage (JCC, a local film festival), participating in Sud Ecriture with a script of a feature film. Later on, I found myself working as a copywriter in JWT. This was different; you have a clear task to do and objective to reach and sell. But it can really develop the creative and artistic techniques of a copywriter.”
Guiding principles
As an individual on a team, it is important to take time to self-reflect, understand your own weaknesses, invest in your strengths and leverage your talent towards the success of the team.
Ethical values are also very important, being honest and trustworthy, having a sense of integrity and support, establishing proper standards for oneself and everyone.
