Global digital agency Isobar and GMC showcased their CoDriver virtual reality experience at Dubai Lynx this week.
The Dentsu Aegis-owned network used footage recorded with GoPro cameras to take passengers on four-wheeled adventure either across the desert dunes or the New Zealand mountains.
The experience combines Oculus Rift DK2 with both CGI and purpose shot 360 degree 12K resolution video footage, with 3D positional sound recording and in-car vibration simulation.
The user sits in the passenger seat while a 3D scan of a real person ‘drives’ the vehicle and interacts with the user.
Isobar also added a bass rumble audio feed to create a fully immersive sensory experience.
